Each day begins
with a flag ceremony. Day time
activities will include: canoeing, high ropes course events, swimming, and other activities. Evening programs are usually more spiritual
in nature and include workshops, speakers and inspiring devotionals. Of course camp songs, skits, and crafts are
included all throughout camp as well.
Food is provided
by the camp. Please contact us as soon as possible of any medically documented food allergies. No young men will be present at the
camp. Church standard attire is required at all
times. Please leave all electronics at
home.
About 100 young
women will be in attendance plus many adult leaders. The first four levels
(divided by age) will do activities and certification in outdoor skills. The
two older levels (16-18) will have training in leadership and then apply their
new skills as youth camp leaders.
In the article “Celebrating 100 Years of Young Women Camp,”
Sister Elaine S Dalton states: “Since 1912, many Young Women camps have been
established and dedicated all around the world. A camp with the most basic and
simple accommodations can become a sacred place where the Spirit of the Lord is
present, where daughters of God put the principles of the gospel into practice,
and where the glorious blessings of nature are appreciated in happy ways.”
Our goal is that each young woman can be
strengthened spiritually and nourish her testimony through the experiences she
has at camp. Sister Dalton further stated, “Wherever camp is held, one thing is
sure: young women love to go to camp! When asked about the favorite part of the
Young Women experience in general, the majority of young women I have visited
with say, “Camp!” YW’s camp can play a significant role in shaping our young
women in the gospel."
We hope you will join us to:
· Draw closer
to God
· Appreciate
and feel reverence for nature
· Become more
self-reliant
· Develop
leadership skills
· Respect and
protect the environment
· Serve others
· Build
friendships
· Enjoy camp
and have fun!
